On Saturday 06/09/12 the Village of Liberty Police Department arrested Steven Jones JR., 25, of Liberty on felony drug charges. Police were called to the Budget Inn Motel around 3:00 am for a disturbance. Police located Jones on scene and after a brief investigation it was discovered that Jones was in possession of cocaine. Jones was arrested and charged with Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree and Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree,both felonies, for possessing the drugs with the intent of selling them. Jones was held at the Liberty Police Department pending arraignment.

The New York State Police at Haverstraw investigated a patient on patient assault that occurred on today’s date at approximately 8:25 a.m. at the Rockland Psychiatric Center located in the town of Orangetown. The investigation revealed that KURT GRDICH, 41, obtained an ink pen and for no apparent reason attacked OSWALDO ISALES, 52. GRDICH struck ISALES in the back of the head, the left eye and the back of the left hand with the pen in his enclosed fist causing injury to these areas.
ISALES was transported to the emergency room at Nyack Hospital where he was treated for superficial wounds to his hands and the back of his head. ISALES was to undergo further medical testing to determine the extent of the injury to his left eye.
GRDICH was arrested and processed for Assault in the 2nd degree and will be produced to the town of Orangetown Court to face these charges on June 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
