NYSP Liberty: Roscoe Man Arrested for Burglary

On May 15, 2012, State Police in Liberty received a report of a one-car accident on Riverside Drive in Roscoe. Responding Troopers were quickly redirected to a nearby residence for a report of a male subject who had just broken into an occupied home. Upon arrival, Troopers located DAVID TEIPELKE, 41 of Roscoe, NY, on the roof of the residence. TEIPELKE was unable to keep his balance and subsequently fell from the roof. He was taken into custody and was transported to Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris where he was treated for lacerations incurred while breaking windows at the residence.

TIEPELKE was released to State Police custody and was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. Investigation revealed that TEIPELKE had driven his 1987 Honda off the roadway and become stuck prior to breaking into the home on Riverside Drive. He was arraigned in Town of Rockland Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail with no bail set.

Liberty PD: Liberty Man Arrested for home invasion burglary.

On 5/11/12 Village of Liberty Police detectives arrested Robert Serrano, 32 of Liberty, after an investigation into a home invasion burglary. Village Police were called on 05/10/12 after a Liberty resident reported that a man was climbing through their bedroom window. The man fled after being discovered by the homeowner and was arrested the next morning after being located by Village of Liberty police.

After his arrest Serrano was linked back to two prior burglaries at the same residence over a period of several months. Each time Serrano had taken change from the residence totaling over $400.00.

Serrano was charged with three counts of Burglary in the 2nd degree, felonies, two counts of petit larceny and one count of attempted petit larceny, misdemeanors. Serrano was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and was remanded to Sullivan County Jail to re-appear in Town of Liberty Court on 05/15/12.

Liberty Woman Stabs Acquaintance at Chestnut St Apartment

On Monday May 1st 2012 Village of Liberty Police arrested Cora Ayers, 47 of Liberty after an incident in which she stabbed a 29 year old male acquaintance in his apartment.

Police were called to Chestnut Street in the Village of Liberty shortly before 3:00pm for reports of a stabbing victim. A brief investigation revealed that Ayers had stabbed the victim one time with a kitchen knife in the back. The victim was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, although his injuries were believed to be non-life threatening.

Ayers was charged with Assault in the 2nd degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, both felonies and criminal mischief in the fourth degree a misdemeanor. Ayers was held at the Liberty Police Department pending arraignment in the Town of Liberty Court.

Bronx Man Arrested for Arson at Daytop

On April 27, 2012, State Police at Liberty were called to the Daytop Village substance abuse treatment facility located at 437 Parksville Rd in Parksville, NY for a report of a suspicious fire that had caused damage to a portion of a dormitory. An investigation conducted with the assistance of Sullivan County fire investigators resulted in the arrest of IGNACIO LICIAGA, 36, of Bronx, NY. Liciaga was charged with Arson in the 4th Degree, a felony.

He was arraigned in Liberty Town Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail with no bail set.

Kiamesha Lake Man Arrested for Theft of Copper

State Police in Liberty, in conjunction with the Village of Liberty Police Department, announce the arrest of Robert S. Giaccone, 31, of Kiamesha Lake, NY, for two counts of Burglary in the 2nd Degree.
Troopers and deputies from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office located a vehicle in the Town of Liberty that matched the desription of a vehicle being sought by the Town of Liberty Police Department. Subsequent to a stop of the vehicle, a quantity of copper was located. Further investigation revealed Giaccone attempted to remove an unknown amount of copper from a residence in the Village of Liberty and did remove several pieces of copper from a residence in White Lake.

Giaccone was processed at SP Liberty and the Village of Liberty Police Department for the above charges, arraigned in the Village of Liberty and committed to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.

Man enters house and wakes sleeping Bloomingburg woman.

A female homeowner on Winterton Road, Bloomingburg, NY found a strange man in her bedroom. The man, who was unknown to her, left the house and was arrested by Troopers as he was walking down Winterton Road. Joshua Z. Gaines, age 19 of Winterton Rd, Middletown, NY was charged with Criminal Trespass 2nd. He was arraigned in Mamakating court and released to a parent to reappear in court at a later date.

Liberty man arrested for Grand Larceny

The New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Michael T. Cook, age 23, of 85 Wawanda Ave., Liberty, NY, for the felony charge of Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree and the misdemeanor charge of Making a Punishable False Written Statement. Cook was arrested after an investigation into the theft of approximately $2,700 in US Currency from the Majek furniture store located in the Ellenville area, Town of Wawarsing, Ulster County, NY.

In March of 2012, SP Ellenville received a larceny report regarding the theft of money from the store’s register. Investigation revealed that Cook, an employee of the furniture store who also reported the incident to the State Police, was responsible for the larceny.

Cook was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Wawarsing Court on April 27, 2012, at 8:30am.

New Jersey man arrested following domestic dispute in Fallsburg

State Police in Liberty announce the arrest of Kenyatta E. Wheeler, age 34, Rahway, NJ for the Misdemeanors of Assault 3rd, Criminal Mischief 4th, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Endangering the Welfare of a child.

The arrest is the result of an investigation into a 911 call at Woodland Townhouse Rd., Apt. A7, Fallsburg, NY on April 8, 2012. Investigation revealed that the above suspect was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend Gloria V. Kasper, age 29, Fallsburg, NY.

Wheeler was processed at State Police – Liberty for the above charges, arraigned in the Town of Fallsburg court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail to reappear in the Town of Fallsburg court on April 11, 2012 at 7:00 pm.

Two Livingston Manor men arrested for Bungalow Colony Burglary

The New York State Police at Liberty announce the arrest of Peter F. Dilauro, age 47, of Livingston Manor, NY for two counts of the felony charge Burglary in the third degree and the misdemeanor charge Possession of burglar’s tools. James F. Slater, age 26, of Livingston Manor, NY was also arrested for the felony charge of Burglary in the third degree.

On April 2, 2012, Troopers responded to a burglary in progress at the La Minette, a bungalow colony located at 9 Wade Road, Liberty, NY. Dilauro and Slater were located inside a bungalow removing pipes and plumbing fixtures and were subsequently arrested and charged for the aforementioned crimes.

Dilauro and Slater was processed at SP Liberty and arraigned in the Town of Rockland. They were both committed to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.

On March 26, 2012 a Trooper stationed out of SP Liberty arrested one Joseph Harrington, a 31 year old Liberty resident, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree after he attempted to discard drug paraphenalia under a police vehicle during an interview and was found to possess crack/cocaine. He was issued an Appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Liberty Court on April 4, 2012.

VILLAGE OF LIBERTY PD

On Friday March 9th, 2012 the Village of Liberty Police arrested Rebecca Egan, 28 of Liberty after an incident at her residence at the Budget Inn Motel. Village of Liberty Police Officers were called by the Sullivan Count Department of Family Services to assist in the removal of children from the room in which Egan was staying.

Upon the arrival of a Village of Liberty Police Officer Egan threw several clonazepam pills she had in her pocket behind a dresser in the room in an effort to conceal them. Egan was placed under arrest and upon being brought to the police vehicle in the parking lot of the motel pulled away from and kicked at an officer in an attempt to escape.

Egan was charged with Tampering with physical evidence, a felony and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree, both misdemeanors. Egan was arraigned in the Town of Rockland Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail. Egan is due to return to the Town of Liberty Court on Tuesday March 13th, 2012.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

The New York State Police at Middletown announce the arrest of a South Fallsburg, New York man for felony possession of cocaine. At approximately 11:35 PM on February 27, 2012, troopers patrolling out of the SP Middletown station stopped a 2000 Dodge Neon for traffic violations on State Route 17 in the Town of Wallkill.

During the stop, a passenger ran away from the vehicle. During a brief foot pursuit, the subject threw a plastic bag containing approximately 30 grams of cocaine. Adrian K. Phillip, age 28, was apprehended and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (one count for possession, and one count for possession with intent to sell), tampering with physical evidence, and obstructing governmental administration. He was arraigned in Town of Wallkill Court, and committed to Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Liberty PD:

On February 16th 2012 the Village of Liberty Police arrested Christopher Colvill on charges stemming from his failure to register as a sex offender and for violating a court order. Colvill was arrested after being produced from the Sullivan County Jail in the Town of Liberty Court. Colvill was charged with Failing to register and verify his physical address, a felony and criminal contempt in the second degree a misdemeanor. The felony charge stems from an investigation into Colvill’s whereabouts after he listed an address in the Village of Liberty as his legal residence on the Sex Offender registry that he was not residing at. The misdemeanor criminal contempt charge stems from an investigation into an incident in late December of 2011 in which Colvill went to the residence of a female that he was ordered to stay away from, due to an order of protection issued from the Town of Liberty Court in October of 2011. Colvill was arraigned in Town of Liberty Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail pending further court appearance.

Liberty State Police:

On February 18, 2012, State Police in Liberty arrested a man for DWI after locating a vehiclein a dirt embankment in the Town of Liberty. Ronald Dutcher, a 41 year old Youngsville resident, was travelling on Cooley Road when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a dirt embankment. Dutcher was arrested and charged with DWI and processed at the State Police barracks in iberty. He is to appear in the Town of Liberty Court on February 21.

Police responded to Ulster Heights Road in the Town of Fallsburg for a domestic situation. During the investigation it was discovered that the occupants of the house had a quantity of marijuana and drug paraphanalia inside the residence.

Jason Rodriguez, age 36 and Katie L. Rodriquez, age 30 of Ulster Hgts Rd were both charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th degree. They were both issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Fallsburg Court on February 22, 2012.

The NYSP were assisted in the investigation by the Town of Fallsburg PD and NYC DEP.

State Police in Liberty announce the arrest of JAMES ROEMER, age 27, North Branch for Robbery 3rd.

On January 22, 2012 State Police initiated an investigation regarding the robbery of Roches gas station in the Town of Delaware. Subsequent investigation determined that Mr. Roemer with his face covered approached an employee working at the business and demanded cash then fled on foot.

Mr. Roemer was arraigned before the Town of Delaware Justice Kramer and committed to the Sullivan County Jail in Lieu of $10000 cash bail to reappear March 10, 2012.

Skeletal Remains found in Montgomery, identified.

Skeletal Remains found in Montgomery, identified.

The New York State Police announce the positive identification made by the Orange County Medical Examiners Office regarding the human skeletal remains recovered on 1/16/2012 from the marshy wetlands located off of State Route 17-K in the Town of Montgomery.

The investigation concluded the remains were that of 24 year old Stephen Croushore of Montgomery, NY.

The human remains were forensically examined by the Orange County Medical Examiners Office. Assisting in the investigation and identification procedures were Dr. Lowell J. Levine and Dr. Ira R. Titunik of the New York State Police Medicolegal Investigation Unit.

Daytime Burglary Suspect Arrested by Liberty PD

On Wednesday January 19th 2012 Village of Liberty Police Detectives arrested a 16 year old man of Liberty after an investigation into a daytime residential burglary. Village of Liberty Police were called on Tuesday January 18th, 2012 after a Village resident returned home to find their residence burglarized with jewelry and electronics stolen. After an intensive investigation Tuesday night and Wednesday, Village detectives arrested the 16 year old man and recovered some of the stolen property. The 16 year old man was charged with Burglary in the 2nd degree and grand larceny in the 4th degree, was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail. The suspect’s name is being withheld due to possible status as a youthful offender.
