Monticello Motor Club Hosts the World’s Top Automakers

As part of a decade-long deal with the International Motor Press Association (IMPA), Monticello Motor Club hosted approximately 500 representatives from the world’s top automakers, suppliers and automotive journalists for a 2-day annual event, Test Days.

“Monticello Motor Club is proud to host IMPA Test Days,” said MMC President Ari Straus. “The annual event will bring prestige to Monticello through the international media coverage of luxury automakers such as Porsche, Lotus, Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz, as well as a much-needed economic shot in the arm for the area that comes with 500 mid-week visitors staying in nearby hotels and patronizing local businesses.”

IMPA Test Days, held September 21 – 22, entered the next stage of its evolution with the move this year to Monticello Motor Club in Monticello, N.Y. from its previous location in the Poconos. The world’s top automakers will gather their newest vehicles in Monticello for 2 days every year, for IMPA to evaluate under the safe, controlled confines of a world-famous motorsports track and a specially prepared off-road course through the beautiful Sullivan County countryside. This year’s sponsors included Audi, Chrysler, Ford, Kia, Land Rover, Mazda, Nissan/Infiniti, Subaru, Volkswagen, BMW, General Motors, Honda/Acura, Hyundai, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Toyota, Lotus, MINI, Mitsubishi and Suzuki.

Launched in July 2008, Monticello Motor Club is North America’s premier automotive resort & private race track dedicated to automotive enthusiasts, located just 90 minutes from Manhattan. Monticello Motor Club features a 4.1 mile road course, 22-turns, 12 different configurations, with 450 feet of elevation changes in addition to a state-of-the-art clubhouse, private garages and service center.
