Meeting for Sullivan County Soap Box Derby Volunteers this Wed., May 16, 2012 at 7pm. Liberty Firehouse, Sprague Avenue, Liberty, NY.

Liberty Soap Box Derby – County Wide Meeting
On Thursday, September 8th there will be a county-wide meeting for the All American Soap Box Derby that will take place in Liberty next year.
The meeting will take place at the Liberty Firehouse (Sprague Ave, Liberty) at 7:00PM. All boys and girls ages 8-17 who want to race, sponsors, and underwriters should attend! Light refreshments will be served.

Soap Box Derby Coming to Liberty
Liberty Soap Box Derby, Inc., through the aid and support of the Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce, has just announced its plans to have a soap box derby in Sullivan County on Sunday, May 27, 2012 as part of its Memorial Day weekend festivities. Liberty Soap Box Derby, Inc., is part of the larger All-American Soap Box Derby competition series, which culminates each August with a national championship in Akron, Ohio. . Founder and organizers Dale and Carol VanDenberg explain “the Soap Box Derby is a great event for kids of all ages and will attract many new friends to visit Liberty over this exciting and festive weekend.”
The Liberty Soap Box Derby will feature two competitive groups – Stock division (ages 8 through 13) and Super Stock division (ages 10 through 17). The winner of each division will be invited, on an all-expense paid trip, to participate in the national championship in Akron, Ohio.
An informational meeting for interested racers and their parents has been scheduled for Thursday, September 8th, at the Liberty Firehouse on Sprague Avenue.
