Large Heroin Bust on Rt 17 in Town of Thompson
On Sunday, October 16th the Liberty State Police arrested three on State Route 17 in the Town of Thompson. Robert Williams, Shadequa Lewis, and Gerald Collins, all of Brooklyn, NY had 500 bags of heroin in their vehicle.
Robert Williams was operating a 2000 Ford Expedition on State Route 17 in the Town of Thompson. Williams, and his passengers, were stopped for a vehicle and traffic violation. Williams was found to be in possession of a small quantity of heroin on his person. A subsequent search of his vehicle yielded 500 bags of heroin, packaged for sale, hidden within the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The driver and occupants were taken into custody.
Robert Williams, Shadequa Lewis, and Gerald Collins were arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree. Williams and Collins were also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. Williams was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail. Lewis and Collins were remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on $100,000 cash bail.
